OUR COMPANY

A small handicraft laboratory, from here it began in 1973 the Zappalà route. A company that has gradually grown into a real food industry. A journey made up of various stages including the one in 1986, the year in which the new Zafferana Etnea production plant comes to life and important technological investments allow the company to specialize in the preservation of fresh cheeses and in the production of cheeses typical of the South Dairy tradition Italy.
Today Zappalà is the only regional company in the sector managed by a Sicilian family present both in the GDO channel and Ho.re.ca in the local area, with a

significant presence also among the main names of the large national distribution. But the Zappalà products cross even the borders of the Bel Paese to arrive, little curiosity, on the tables of the best restaurants of the Dubai Mall.
If in Italy and in the world the company aims to be a spokesperson for Sicilian and typical products, in Sicily and Calabria it is a daily reference point for consumers and restaurants, offering artisan quality at competitive prices.

THE FACTORIES
There are three factories, BRC and IFS certified, each with its own specialization field: fresh dairy products are made in Zafferana Etnea; in Ragusa the typical cheeses, the canestrati and all the service activities connected to the production (slicing, portioning, etc.); while the Caltanissetta plant is dedicated to the packaging of fresh milk, long-life milk and cream
 
QUALITY CHECK

Advanced technologies, state-of-the-art systems and advanced systems ensure quality control at the highest levels, guaranteed by the presence of analysis laboratories in all plants for routine checks and by a central laboratory, in the Zafferana Etnea site, which, in addition to coordinating the checks carried out in the peripheral plants, constantly monitors the quality of the production lots, before and after delivery to the sales points

OUR HISTORY

It is in Sicily, over 40 years ago, that the history of Zappalà begins. A genuine story that has its roots in a small artisan workshop, led by Alfio and Angela, parents of the three brothers, Salvatore, Luigi and Rossano, current company sales.
A story of a family and a company whose solidity is built every day, not only within the offices or during business trips, but also within the walls of the house. Sunday tables, lunches by the pool, important events, joys and, why not, even shared difficulties feed a strong and family bond, and are part of this company that finds its roots in the family and in the territory, but also his future.
It is in fact also thanks to the contribution of the new generation, now present in the company with roles in line with attitudes and respective path of study, in fact, that Zappalà has been able to seize new challenges.

Like that of proposing, even though today it is a real food industry, cheeses typical of the best dairy tradition of Southern Italy, thus managing to exit the mass market and intercept market niches, in line with the demands of the final consumer.
Products of the highest quality, which also lend themselves to becoming protagonists or enhancing the taste of dishes of important chefs, and that well underline the strong bond with the territory of a “proudly Sicilian” company that, today as yesterday, wants to be ambassador of the own land in the world. An “artisan” enterprise with a global vision.
Zappalà is therefore a story made up of values that in the table, understood as a symbol of union and family sharing, has always found not only its point of arrival, but also the starting point.
